Black Friday Deals I wish the WWE would offer.

1. Give John Cena a Three Month Vacation.

Yes, this might lose the WWE some money but with the rise of Ryback it could take some of the pressure off of Cena. Fans would actually be excited if we were able to just not see Cena on our screens for a couple of months and incorporate him someone he has never matched up against. With the break, it would become the perfect opportunity to turn him into the heel we have been waiting a long time for.

2. Take Alberto Del Rio Out of the World Heavyweight Championship Equation

Enough is enough, there is nothing for the WWE Universe to bite into with the Del Rio character. After spending most of 2012 chasing the title and, not capturing it you have to think that the end of Del Rio's chase is near... for now. His feud with Randy Orton was actually pretty good and it produced some great matches including the Hell in the Cell PPV match. However, they have had their blow-off match on this past weeks RAW in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Maybe a Del Rio vs newly turned face Miz would be a nice change of pace for both superstars.

3. Do Not Have Triple H Headline Any Other PPV From Now On

No one truly is that invested in the game that they are dying to see him in another match. This man has an ego the size of South America and now that he is next in charge after Vince decides to hang it up I'm afraid we might see way more than HHH then we want to. Stick to your new day job Hunter.

I truly hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and a plentiful Black Friday, I shall be back with the podcast Wednesday

Thanks for Reading!

Power Rankings Following Survivor Series and RAW

10. Tyson Kidd & Justin Garbriel

This team of high flyers can definitely handle their own in the tag team division. They came out on top in a bonus Survivor Series match along side Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. The fans including myself, can relate to him and that is a big plus. Also, they just go out and amaze each and every week. Look for this team to build on the Survivor Series victory.

9. Wade Barrett

The Bare knuckle brawler has shown that he is ready to be in the title picture. This week was no different, he had a good showing in the Survivor Series match, Team Foley vs Team Ziggler, and defeated the IC Champ, Kofi Kingston, in a non-title match up. Barretts' name has to be included in the World Heavyweight Championship talk.

8. Randy Orton

Up and down week for the Viper. He was the last man eliminated in the before mentioned Team Foley vs Team Ziggler match. Although, he did win a 2 out of 3 match against Alberto Del Rio on RAW that did boost his ranking up for the week. Orton has been up and down all year though, it'll be interesting if his winning trend will continue.

7. Antonio Cesaro

The U.S. Champion has held the championship for four months as he won it against Santino Marella at Summerslam. Sunday he was able to retain the title against a former champion in R-Truth. Then on Monday, Cesaro crushed the Funkasaurs Brodus Clay in less than three minutes.

6. The NXT Crew

The group consists of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. These three attacked Ryback in the main event of the PPV to help CM Punk retain the WWE Championship. Did they have a different motive though? It'll be intriguing on who is behind the attack. Hopefully this NXT attack will have a purpose.

5. Sheamus

Sheamus was wronged in his World heavyweight Championship match and he made sure Big Show knew that. As Sheamus was going for the Brogue Kick, Show moved and the kick hit the referee. Sheamus was DQ'd. However, after the match was over Sheamus stopped smiling and took his intensity to the level he debut with two years ago and knocked Show silly with a steel chair. On Monday Sheamus defeated Damien Sandow in a 14 minute battle.

4. Big Show

The World Heavyweight Champion did retain his title but, it came at a price. Show was just beat down with a steel chair from the hands of Sheamus. Did Big Show make a mistake and make the Irishman angry? How long can he hold onto the title?

3. Dolph Ziggler

The "Show Off" lived up to his name in the Survivor Series match Sunday. Not only was he the captain for his team, he also was the sole survivor in the match. Some are wondering though as to why he did not cash his Money in the Bank contract on a down and out Big Show? I believe that maybe Ziggler thought that everyone expected him to do it then and he already had a great moment on the PPV. RAW was a step up for Ziggler as well when he went toe to toe with Cena and looked damn good at that. Ziggler looks like a winner now not just someone who makes others look good.

2. Ryback

Ryback might have bitten off more than he can chew with the NXT crew on his case. As we saw Sunday AND Monday the NXT Crew put him through the announce table. He did defeat Tensai on RAW and looked dominate in the triple threat match at the PPV. He will win the championship one day but for now....

1. CM Punk

One year is now how long Punk has held the WWE Championship. Quite the feat if you consider that not even the Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, or Shawn Michaels have accomplished. With Paul Heyman by his side it seems like the voice of the voiceless has become more confident in his ablity and if he is behind the NXT Crew more power to him.

Hardy Boys vs Generation Me by Chris Gross

We have had a lot of amazing tag teams and a lot of tag teams that were, well lets just say not so great. Two tag teams that I would love to see go at it would be the Hardy boys and Generation me. Some may not know who Generation me is, well they where a tag team in TNA and they are brother's like Matt and Jeff are. Generation me is the team of Max and Jeremy. A lot of people say they look like the Hardy's did when they made there WWE debut back in the 80's. The only thing different about Generation me and the Hardy's boys is both Max and Jeremy are high flyer's. I know many of you will say wait right there Matt is a high flyer to, yes and no he does do high flying but that's like a leg drop pretty much, Matt is more like the guy with the power moves for the Hardy's. Both teams have moves that makes the crowd go wow did that really just happen, they bring you to the edge of your seats waiting to see whats going to happen next. Even though it would be a match that will have you on the edge of your seats but i would have to end up giving the Hardyz the win. The reson is they are more experienced then Generation me and the Hardyz have a lot of epic matchs under their belts thank you but Hardys win this one easy

Thanks for reading do you think I picked the right team? Let me know in the comment section below

Fantasy Match Up of the Week: Kane vs Abyss

Written by- Chris Gross

Do you like to see monsters in wrestling? I do, and I'll name two of them that I would love to see and that would be the Big Red Machine Kane and TNA's monster Abyss. both are 6 foot tall monsters.

Lets talk about Kane. At times I don't like how WWE uses Kane but that's not why you are reading this instead, lets venture into Kane's strengths. Kane is a dominating force that is willing to brawl with anyone who is brave enough too. He also loves to set people on fire and bury people alive.

Now onto Abyss, he loves to play with barbwire and thumbtacks in my opinion I think Abyss is a little too hardcore for the monster Kane to handle, with the barbwire and thumbtacks, Kane has a disadvantage against Abyss. Kane has the brawling ability, fire and burying people on his side this has its advantages and disadvantages. Abyss has been set on fire so the only thing that gives Kane the upper hand is burying people alive which, if you add that up that's 1 out of 4 odds for Kane to win against the monster Abyss

In the end though, I believe that the Monster Abyss would come out on top over Kane. Abyss just has too many weapons in his favor. Will Kane make it a fight? Of course he will that is why this is a fantasy match up, as it would be a rough and tough fought match.

Final Decision: Abyss

Thanks for reading and make sure to come back every Saturday where I will be giving my fantasy match up of the week. Also, don't forget to comment on who you think would win and some fantasy match ups you would like to see discussed.

Power Rankings RAW 9/24/12

Power Rankings of RAW 9/24

What up Suswrestling readers, Each and every Thursday I will give you new power rankings! Now this week is a little bit different, I usually watch RAW on Thursdays so I've only watch last weeks RAW. I figured that was a great place to start so here..... we...... go!

#10. The Big Show

The Big Show made his return to RAW after being off the show for over a month, by coming out during Brodus Clay and Tensais' match and giving the WMD knockout punch to both superstars. As we saw on Smackdown, he also now the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.

#9 Rhodes Scholars

This newly formed team of Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, have been on a roll lately and it continued this week. They attacked the tag team champions, Team Hell No, on RAW to send a message that the champs have a target on their back. You have to expect this team to be favorites in the tag team tournament to determine the number one contenders for said titles.

#8 Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio

At number eight we say another tag team in Mysterio and Cara who teamed up with the WHC Sheamus to defeat Alberto Del Rio, Ricardo Rodriquez and David Otunga. the duo have not lost a match since teaming together. The two however, have to watch their backs when it comes to the Prime Time Playas.

#7 John Cena

Yes I know a lot of you will probably think he should be higher on this list. The fact of the matter is though, Cena is hurt and cannot compete so that drops him down a few pegs. Smart thinking on Cena's part this week by using a lead pipe against CM Punk

#6 Team Hell No

Daniel Bryan and Kane who finally got a tag team name, Team Hell No, were at it again this week. This time at a diner role playing, per Dr.Shelby. Once again these segments were hilarious as this is the most entertaining "odd couple" I have seen in quite some time. Later on in the night however, they were attacked from behind by the Rhodes Scholars. This duo better get on the same page soon or they can kiss those titles away.

#5 The Miz

Yes I know, The Miz was defeated by Ryback in less than three minutes. However, he is still the IC Champion. It'll be interesting to see how Miz bounces back after the loss. Miz number five this week but, his time on the rankings might be short if he doesn't step up his game.

#4 Ryback

Speaking of Ryback, he comes in at number four. Ryback has been on such a hotstreak so far and beat his toughest opponent  to date, Miz, in less than three minutes. and by the of the night he was face to face the Champ, CM Punk. Could he be the new contender for the title?

#3 Sheamus

The World Heavyweight Champion had a good week with a 6 man tag team victory that included the thorn in his side, Alberto Del Rio. The new foe that Sheamus has to keep an awful big eye on is The Big Show.

#2 CM Punk

CM Punk had an interesting week that included blackmailing the GM, A.J., and declining Cena's match proposal. Paul Heyman doesn't make matters better after he was slapped by A.J.. Punk wants respect and is getting it from me by being number two on this list. CM has been running through the RAW roster for almost a year now but, his biggest obstacle to date could be the monster, Ryback.

#1 Jerry Lawler

This ranking is more of sentimental one than anything else. It was great to see Lawler in such high hopes during his interview from his home in Memphis. Get well soon Jerry!

Monday, October 1, 2012

Jerry Lawler: The Legend That Keeps On Giving

Jerry "The King" Lawler has really earned that nickname of the king over his career. From his days in Memphis to now, Lawler has done pretty much everything in his career. He has held multiple championships in fact more than anyone else. Lately though, Lawler has been used to enhance talent by becoming an announcer and also sometimes used to wrestle main event talent. In early 2011 Jerry went into a feud with then WWE champion the Miz for his title. This was Lawler first chance at the WWE title and he fought hard in a ladder match where he almost captured the championship.
Jerry vs. The Miz ladder match

He would lose to Miz one last time to end his dreams of becoming the champion of World Wrestling Entertainment. It seems through the years "The King" has been a proving ground for Superstars to prove that they deserve respect, which shows how much of an impact the hall of famer has had on the pro wrestling world.

Enter the newest Superstar to go after Lawler, CM Punk. The WWE Champion has gone on a tirade trying to get respect from his peers after he has shown them respect by letting them main event instead of him even being the WWE Champion. Well Lawler seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time on the 8-20-12 episode of RAW. As CM Punk just gave Lawler a beating to prove he is the man.  He called out Lawler last night on RAW and told him basically the truth that he is part of the problem why he is getting no respect by slandering him. Punk wanted to fight Lawler and Jerry accepted. The audience had the decision which turned into a steel cage match. Punk destroyed Lawler locking him into the cage and kneeing him over and over again in the skull. Before that occurred though, Jerry looked strong against the champ. It just shows how great The King can be used and I'm sure how he will be used until he decides not to bring the tights anymore and just announce the action. I don't see that happening soon.

Who Loves Colt? I Do!

Courtesy of www.welovecolt.com
The picture above says it all. Colt Cabana presents the Art of Wrestling podcast every single Thursday. On the show Colt brings in people who wrestle in not only the top promotions but also on the independent scene. For those of you who don't know Colt Cabana, here is an excerpt from the beginning of every single podcast: "I'm a podcaster, a personality, a Chicago native, and also most importantly a professional wrestler." All of those are true and he is so entertaining live from his studio...... apartment in Chicago Illinois. Colt was in WWE for a brief moment as the infamous Scotty Goldman, who was mostly used as a jobber to the stars on Smackdown. Now back on the independent circuit of professional wrestling grinding and selling his merch as much as possible. Now for years I've heard about Cabana and saw him wrestle in WWE and also on Ring of Honor. I could definitely see the difference in him in the two brands. In WWE he did what he could but most of the match consisted of him selling the moves from the opposing wrestler. In Ring of Honor however, Colt was having fun and could be himself by executing the fun moves he was known for plus his personality just shined. Okay now back to his podcast, I travel quite a bit and get bored of listening to the radio and to the songs on my Ipod so I went and searched in podcast to see what I could enjoy and make the three hour drive go by a little faster. Nothing was really catching my attention, so I decided to search wrestling and see what came up, the first result that came up? The Art of Wrestling with Colt Cabana. I thought okay I'll give this a shot and I downloaded the John Morrison episode. The interview with Morrison was so real and just genuine, it felt like we all got to know who Morrison really was and not just the character that was on TV every week. Colt Cabana is great in his role as the host and interviewer on the podcast. So after that one I started downloading more and more, now whenever I put my phone on any dock it is playing the Art of Wrestling. If you haven't checked it out go to Itunes or welovecolt.com  and listen to the show with tweaked audio ear buds. Cabana also has a video series, that is brought to you by highspots.com, that is called Creative has Nothing for You it only takes a minute to watch a new episode airs every Monday night. His twitter, @ColtCabana, is also a must read as he tweets who is next on the show, his thoughts on pro wrestling and whatever else is on his mind. I hope I did your plugs well Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana. I'd like to add one more thing if Colt Cabana reads this; keep up all the great work and I'm sure you'll be on TV soon and also for the podcast.... Thanksssssss......

My Live Raw in Review 9-24-12 on Hulu Plus

Hello there internet world! I don't have cable so I usually watch RAW on YouTube, but now they have it on Hulu and so here we go! The hulu version is only ninty minutes so lets see if there is a difference in other reports.... Now lets get on with the show!

CM Punk and Paul Heyman start the show in the middle of the ring angry from last weeks controversial finish to the main event. Heyman shows that Punk had his foot on the bottom rope during the pin. Heyman calls it a tradagy and wants the referee from last week, Brad Maddox, to come to the ring and apologize and resign. Maddox said he made a mistake it was his first main event and he was nervous. Heyman asked him once again to resign, Maddox said he is sorry but... Punk then interrupts and asked who he is and how did he get hired? Punk also calls out his manhood. Maddox explains that after Raw moved to three hours A.J. called him and hired him as another referee. Heyman then said you are nothing but a replacement then gives Maddox a eye coverer with both the WWE and NFL logos on it playing into the replacement refs of the NFL. Punk calls out A.J., the GM of RAW, to fire Maddox. A.J. skips to the ring and said not to berate the refs and who do they think they are for holding RAW hostage. Punk goes on a rant about being the WWE Champ and the reason why everyone is the why A.J. gets a paycheck every week. Punk blackmails A.J. by showing her when she proposed to him that there are voicemails, texts that aren't suitable for the USA Network. Punk goes into saying that they were intimate behind the scenes taking credit for the skip to the ring. Heyman then tells Punk to have him handle this. Paul proposed to A.J. saying they would be a power couple that he would handle all the idea and she can take credit for it. A.J. response was a slap to Heyman's face. As RAW fades out Michael Cole recapped what has happened with Jerry Lawler and announced that later on in the show we will have an update on him with an exclusive interview.....

We are back from only two ads from Hulu... thank goodness..... With the hardcore legend, Mick Foley, coming out to the ring. J.R. said that Foley has always been one of his favorites, to not judge a book by his cover. Foley who is in a very serious mood starts out by saying in the last year he has been an avid supporter of CM Punk but now he is just a sheep to Heyman. Punk's music interrupted and he asked for respect from the hardcore legend and then asked if he is here to sell a new children's book and stay relavent in the WWE. Foley then went on to explain that yes he does always wonder if he does stay relavent but, Punk answered that question almost a year ago after Foley sent him a text that said how does it feel to be the top guy and Punk responded two minutes later with a text that read "Thanks Mick that means a lot especially coming from you" Foley said his biggest problem with Punk is he alligned with Paul, saying he was never lied to by him but knows the kind of man he is. Most importantly Foley asked why Punk needs a mouth piece if he is the voice of the voiceless.... Foley then told Punk he's either gonna be his own man or drink the "kool-aid" Mick then went on to say that he doesn't need to demand respect because in the Hell in the Cell he proved why he deserved respect. Punk asked Foley if he was done then went on to say he is nothing like Foley or Bret Hart who have both said they see some of them in Punk. Punk stated that Cena keeps saying if Punk beats Cena at Night of Champions then he is the best which he did. 309 days is how long Punk has been champion Foley then said 29  which signified how many days he was WWE champion and no one remembers that so does Punk want to be a legend or just another statistic.... Foley also said that John Cena should be recovered from elbow surgery by Hell in the Cell and GM A.J. has made the decision that it is going to be Punk's choice to face Cena at HIAC. Cena will be in the arena later on to hear Punks' answer.... Coming up next Miz vs. Ryback!

IC Champ THE MIZ VS RYBACK

JR stated that Miz will be one of the greats pre the matchup. Miz squirmed out of a few of Rybacks power moves but Ryback caught him and flipped him to the other side of the ring. Looked like Miz reversed a powerslam to a reverse neckbreaker  but Ryback countered that with a power slam  A few head slams to the mat and Miz gets out of the ring but Ryback meets him out there and throws Miz back in the ring. Miz got some defense with a kick to the head and a DDT. Ryback came back with a powerbomb, clothesline, and ShellShock which was good enough for the pin

Decision: Ryback pin in 2 min and 55 sec.  Very interesting to see The Miz get dominated like that especially being the IC Champ...

Daniel Bryan and Kane have lunch at a diner per request of Dr.Shelby. They talk about how they like hurting people especially last Friday when they hurt 8 men. Both went into "When Harry Met Sally" mode and starting screaming Yes! and Hurt! to completion. Mae Young then was shown and said I'll have what they are having. I am loving these two, they make Monday Night RAW fun to watch in a non corny way like we are a custom to with the WWE... Jerry Lawler interview up next!

Michael Cole brings us back in and went through the events of two weeks ago when Jerry "The King" Lawler suffered a major life threatening heart attack. Cole said WWE doctors told him that it is an absolute miracle that Lawler has recovered so well. Lawler was then introduced with a standing ovation live via satellite at his house in Memphis, TN. Lawler looks great! Still has the effects of having a ventilator tube down his throat with his voice being raspy. Last thing he remembered that night was seeing Punk and Bret in the ring. Doesn't remember his own match that happened after that. Lawler thought he was still on vacation with his girlfriend when he woke up in the hospital. Cole then asked Lawler when he is going to come back? Lawler came back that him getting sick was because he went from two to three hours with Cole. I'm glad he has a great sense of humor. Lawler did say however that when he get the go to return he will be there faster than smoke. It looked like to me that Lawler was holding back tears during the whole segment I can't blame him for being overwhelmed. I cannot wait for Lawler to come back as I have wrote about before he truly is a living legend.

When we return to RAW Sheamus is in the ring with David Otunga. Apparently its a six man tag team match of Sheamus Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs Alberto Del Rio David Otunga and Ricardo Rodriguez. Rodriguez covered Sin cara for a two count. Ross pointed out that has to be the toughest tuxedo that Ricardo is wearing with it staying buttoned in this match. Ricardo tagged Del Rio and takes down Cara. Rodriguez tagged back in now trying to take off Cara's mask before getting kicked in the head and head scissored down. Del Rio and Mysterio both tag in. Quick arm bar by Mysterio cover for 2 1/2. Drop toe hold to Del Rio in the corner. Mysterio goes to the top rope and ensurgi by Del Rio onto Mysterio. Otunga tagged in, body slam by Otunga and Ricardo back in. Cover on Mysterio, gut kick to Rodriguez  and Otunga is back, with a quick couple of punches then tags in Del Rio who delivers another ensurgi this time to Mysterios back. Mysterio is taking a beating when Rey comes back with a roll into a dropkick. Rey tags in Sheamus and Otunga is in. Sheamus with the hot tag offense. Goes for the Brogue Kick but Otunga gets out of the way and tags Ricardo in. Rodriguez doesn't want in and tries to run but Sheamus gets him and get Ricardo against the ropes for Mysterio to deliver the 619 and Sin Cara gets tagged in to hit the Senton Bomb for the Pin.

Sheamus, Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio by Pinfall in 10 minutes. After the match Otunga is the only one left in the ring and Sheamus delivers a Brogue Kick to him for good measure. We get a tease for John Cena in a sling to tell us how serious his injury is tonight here on RAW!

Now another Diner segment with Bryan, Kane and now, Dr. Shelby. Role playing time for the tag champs. Daniel Bryan, the vegan, gets meatballs and Kane receives a salad, Doctor says for both of them to take a bite so they know how the other feel. After they both take a bite Shelby asked how they feel Kane answers with a large belch and Bryan throws up in Shelby's lap. Twitter poll for the tag team name for the two,,, Team Teamwork, Team Hell No, and Team Friendship.. I would choose Friendship if it was live. The Tag Champs live next!

Dainel Bryan comes out with the WWE Universe screaming Yes! and Bryan screaming No! Next out is the other half of this crazy team, Kane. Now the results of the Twitter pole, the winner is.... Team Hell No! After the announcement Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow attacked the champs! Cody then announced that their team name is the Rhode Scholars. Sandow then said that Kane and Bryan now have a reason to be angry and that they are welcome. After that we get a replay of Heyman proposing to AJ, and then a replay of Foley and Punk. Will Cena get the answer from Punk that he wants? How long will it take for him to heal?  We will find out tonight!

Funkasauras, Brodus Clay,  comes out next with a spiffy black hat and dances into the ring. And Tensai comes out to square off against Clay. Tensai with some headbutts early on, and Clay headbutts right back. Clay with a splash in the corner followed by a slam. Clay goes for a splash misses and Tensai tries for one but misses also. Big Shows music hits! He hits Tensai with the WMD to cause the DQ. Brodus Clay and Big Show have the stare down. Clay runs at Show and Big Show deliverers another WMD right hand.  That quite the return after a brief hiatus from Show. Cena is up next!

Alright here we go! The last part of RAW starts off with Cena entering the arena with a large roar from the crowd. Cena opens up by saying that there are mixed emotions with him being here tonight and originally wasn't suppose to be here but wanted to thank everyones support for the Susan G Komen foundation which is a organization that is trying to find a cure for breast cancer. Cena has been wearing pink to honor the foundation and proceeds of the money that goes into selling the pink merchandise. CM Punk has misquoted him and said that he said Night of Champions will define him and Cena who tried not to swear pretty much summed it up with Punk being a slimeball. Cena states he is not guarantee his return but he will guarantee he will be at Hell in Cell to fight Punk. As Punk came to the ring Cole and Ross talked about how selfish Punk has gotten the last few months as he is trying to find respect. Punk said the speeches he has heard tonight and the last four weeks have reminded him of the slimy politics. Punk then said Cena should be a politican or even president with all the crap he tries to shovel to the masses. He said he is not gonna lose his title to a one armed man. Punk said he will not face Cena at Hell in the Cell because John has had countless shots at the chamionship and someone else deseverves a shot. Also, he won't be medically cleared not just because of his elbow but because he will hurt him if he is going to come out there and bad mouth and disrespect him with him in his arm brace. Punk is going to turn his back and count to five before he beats the living crap outta Cena. As Punk turns around Cena pulls out a lead pipe and when Punk gets to one Cena nails Punk with the pipe. Cena then said "Real mean wear pink" and he hopes to see him at HIAC. Cena then shakes the hands of the crowd. Punk is in the back walking around when he sees Mick and kicks him in the mid section! Punk starts walking away then turns around to beat up Foley more but as he turns around Ryback is standing in front of Mick!

So all in all, I think that Hulu and WWE is a great partnership. I dig watching RAW on my TV. I hope you like this live RAW Review! Once again thanks again for reading I really do appreciate the support and leave comments below I would love to hear what you think!

Superstars of the Future: Johnny Curtis

Oh Johnny Curtis..... You are the creepiest superstar I have ever seen but, so enthralling to watch. Lets step back a little bit into the career of Curtis shall we? Johnny was a contestant on the fourth season of NXT with his Pro being R-Truth. Curtis was a very generic superstar who didn't really stand out, yet he eventually won that season of NXT. With the win he was guaranteed a tag team title shot with R-Truth.    He never did receive that title shot, he did however have some odd promos to hype his debut to Smackdown.. Here is the full compilation of said promos.

When he did debut on Smackdown he was squashed right away and did not win any matches. He was then put back on NXT when the show started being less of a competition and more of a the "C" show. Johnny Curtis started teaming with Derrick Bateman for a while, they then started a feud over WWE Diva Maxine. Curtis started showing his creepy style by just being a real douchebag to the Divas on the show plus just doing odd weird things that were pure awesomeness. Derrick, Maxine and Johnny all had some of the best backstage segments in all of WWE.

Now with the new NXT in full force Curtis hasn't been featured all that often. This could be taken one of two ways, first way is they are getting him ready to be featured on national television in the near future or, that they have no idea what to do with him next. Hopefully it is the first option if not then for now he has been a featured player on Santino Marella's internet show, Foreign Exchange, as Santinos possible international co-host, in battle with Yoshi Tatsu. This could lead to an ally in Santino that could help both superstars in the future maybe in the up and coming tag team division perhaps? Johnny "Creepy" Curtis has grown a lot since his debut on NXT almost two years and is finally ready for the main stage. For now though, I'll leave you with this weeks "Foreign Exchange."

Raw in Review 9-17-12

Damien Sandow Teaches the WWE Universe
Damien Sandow came out to the ring and told the WWE Universe that his favorite time of year, back to school time, the sloth time is over which he is alluding to summertime. Sandow told us about how important it is to enhance your vocabulary and he gave examples. Well Zack Ryder had enough of it and interrupted Damien and told him to shut up. They had an outstanding match that had Sandow come out on top. Sandow has tremendous upside that obviously WWE sees in him as he is featured every single week, and only gets better.

Dolph Ziggler Defeats Santino Marella With the Distratction of the Cobra?!?

Dolph Ziggler is going nowhere fast, especially being the holder of the Money in the Bank. He was defeated by Jericho at SummerSlam, but then defeated him on RAW to make him retire for now. Then he went onto a feud with Randy Orton, who he lost to at Night of Champions. Dolph faced comedy relief Santino Marella in a actual competitive match and needed a distraction from Vickie Guerrero the distraction? Dolph and Vickie stole Santinos' sock puppet cobra...... Yeah that happened with a guy that is suppose to be taken seriously.

Miz TV Debuts

The Miz finally has gotten his own talk show! His first guest? Smackdown General Manager Booker T, who Miz has had a beef with. Miz believes that Booker is trying to take away his Intercontential Championship that he won from Christian over two months ago. At Night of Champions, Booker made the match that pitted Miz against three other competitors that included Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Cody Rhodes. Miz prevailed and kept the title. Booker T did not like what Miz was saying to him and said he has somebody for him to face. At that moment the big Ryback came out and chased Miz out of the ring. Ryback started throwing the set of the Mizs' show and threw the couch like it was nothing. Here is the video to clarify the whole issue:

If Miz is the first person to actually feud with Ryback and has matches with him that last longer then 3 minutes then that would be a great pick for both Superstars. I just hope Miz doesn't get sqaused especially being the IC Champ.

Punk/Del Rio vs Cena/Sheamus in a "Super Main Event"

Paul Heyman opened up RAW to talk about the draw that happened at Night of Champions that saw Punk and Cena both get counted one two three for a double pin finish after a great 20+ minute match. Cena came out and said that yes indeed the call was right for the double pin but he believes he should have another shot at the WWE title. Alberto Del Rio then came out and said he feels like he was robbed after the Brogue Kick was reinstated minutes before his World Heavyweight Title match against the champion Sheamus. A.J. came out and said that there will be a Super Main event by combining the two Main events from last night. The end of the match saw a new referee make the three count on CM Punk who was covered by Cena, while Punk had his foot on the bottom ropes. It was a moment of fair play that showed refs make mistakes but, can also make the right call and we saw both sides of that the last two shows. I'm all for Punk being champion, more so with Paul Heyman by his side, until the Royal Rumble to face the Rock and I hope Punk wins.

Superstars of the Future: Derrick Bateman

Derrick Bateman, also known as the most patriotic superstar in the WWE, was first seen in the national spotlight as a contestant on the 4th season of WWE NXT. He shined all the way through the competition with his mentor Daniel Bryan the duo worked really well together in the ring and in backstage segments. Bateman really showed me that he could be a great performer in the ring with a solid moveset that was well executed and outside of the ring with his hilarious backstage segments with Daniel Bryan and anyone else that he would run across. Below is an example of what I mean when Bryan tries teaching Bateman a submission move.
Derrick Bateman came in third place on NXT and would disappear from the WWE for almost a year, when he did return, it was to NXT Redemption as a surprise entrant and part of the final 3 of that season. As the season went on however, it seemed to matter less and less about who was going to win as the season continued into complete oblivion as it turned into WWE Superstars with actual storylines and became the most compelling show WWE had to offer and Derrick had a lot to do with that. His rivalry with Johnny Curtis, that involved mutual love interest Maxine, proved to be entertaining and showed off both superstars ring awareness and to me, showed that they were both ready for the main roster. Here is their final match to date from the new NXT.

Now after NXT Redemption came to its conclusion it seemed as though Bateman was on his way to the promise land which is either being on RAW or Smackdown!. Yes, he was on Smackdown a few times but his appearances mostly consisted of being squashed by guys like newcomer and fellow NXT alum Ryback. So Bateman has been on NXT again like the video above, however though there's been some Youtube videos of a man called The USA Guy standing up for what is right and fighting off foreigners and bad guys from the USA. The man looks a lot like Derrick Bateman and it seems to go off the character that Bateman mostly goes by. If this is the case then I can't wait until he shows up on Smackdown or even RAW! It would be a great change of pace from the regular comic relief of Santino Marella and hopefully they use him as someone who can be funny but also is tough to compete against in the ring. The sky truly is the limit for Bateman as an entertainer and as a wrestler overall and I'm so excited as a fan of wrestling as maybe Bateman will have what it takes to attract fans who have always had a problem with wrestling being too dramatic and predictable with Derricks sense of humor and just the way he presents himself as a natural superstar who is a big deal. Now to leave you this week, here is the first USA Guy video... Until next week..... Hold on to your flagpoles.

Raw in Review 9-10-12

First of all I just wanted to say thank you to all the troops that have fought for and died for our freedom after the 9-11 tragedy. Today marks the 11th year anniversary of that fateful day. This tragic event really did bring our country together and stole our innocence away showing that we can be vulnerable. God bless everyone who was affected by the events. Thank God for the troops.
Jerry Lawlers' Health Scare
The king had quite the Monday night, but not as planned for the announcer/wrestler. He teamed up with Randy Orton to defeat CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler after Punk was influenced to leave the match (more on that later) the next we saw on RAW was Daniel Bryan and Kane against The Prime Time Players. As the match went on the announce table seemed to get silent and we heard wheezing and coughing, the next thing we saw was one of the scariest, hold your breath, moment that I'll never forget. The next moment captured saw Lawler bent over on his chair and holding his head as he seemed s to just collapse as Michael Cole had his arm around his shoulder. As medical personal took Jerry to the back where he was rushed to the hospital. As the show continued the announce table was silent except for Michael Cole giving updates on Lawler which the last one said that he was starting to breath on his own. Today's news came out that he did in fact have a heart attack and had surgery which was successful and Lawler is now in stable condition with doctors main concern being what kind of brain damage occurred when he had his heart attack. Reports say that Lawler complained of chest pains in Memphis last week. I really hope that Lawler comes back as soon as he is ready and cleared to come back. This should also prove to not just the WWE but wrestling in general that performers over 50 should not be wrestling in the way Lawler has been used as of late. Lawler you'll be in my prayers and hope for a speedy recovery.
Cody Rhodes Defeated Mysterio: Inserts Himself into IC Title Picture

Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio faced off in the wrestling main event on RAW. Cody Rhodes picked up the win when the Miz got onto the ring apron and distracted Mysterio enough for Rhodes to hit his finisher, the Cross Rhodes. After the match was over Miz tried to attack Rey but Rhodes hit The Miz with his finisher as well and ended his night by holding up the Intercontinental Title. Its about time Cody picks up a win on RAW! Even if it is a tainted win at least he didn't get squashed. It'll be interesting if Rhodes does win back the IC Title, that would be three reigns for Cody this year alone. It would be nice for him to win at a match that'll probably occur at Night of Champions, it would be even better if he would be hurled in the main event slot.

Daniel Bryan and Kane... The Tag Team?

Hug it out guys

The Daniel Bryan-Kane saga has been quite the crazy journey. It started with both of them going after the WWE Championship. Once they were done with that, Bryans' ex girlfriend, A.J., became the GM and said Bryan had to go to anger management.... Kane went as well... The next two weeks the anger management skits were the must see parts of the shows. Then last week we had a hug it out match between the two that ended in chaos. So now that we are caught up on that.... This week AJ decided to put the two together as a tag team against the tag team championship #1 contenders; The Prime Time Players, and won to become the new #1 contenders for R-Truth and Kofi Kingstons championships. I hope Kane and Bryan win the gold it will be just another interesting twist in the story.

Bret Hart Returns to Montreal and Gets Interupted by Punk

Monday Night RAW started off with a bang when Bret Hart opened RAW to be heard in Montreal for the first time since 1997. As Bret Hart started his speech he was interrupted by the brash WWE Champion, CM Punk. Punk played the "What if" game and said if it were him instead of Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series he would have beaten Hart without McMahon and the attitude era would have never occurred and that WWE would die.  Bret stated that he has no respect and Punk said he'll earn his respect at Night of Champions when he defeats Cena to become one of the greatest WWE Champion of all time. It was then announced that since Punk walked out last week the WWE Universe will choose Punk's oppentant tonight between Randy Orton, Brodus Clay and Jerry Lawler. The polls chose Orton which then led to the tag match noted above, During the match Heyman came out and discussed something with Punk and grabbed the Title as they left the match. Then later on in the night Hart and Cena were discussing what was going to happen Sunday at the PPV. Punk then came out and Cena just ripped Punk a new saying that he is a no good son of a bitch that'll lose because he does not deserve that Championship belt. Punk and Cena then got into and it ended with Hart give Punk a great right hook. Once again I'll state it here.... I hope Punk prevails Sunday... He has been the most consistent performer except for Cena, for the past year and needs to be rewarded.

Other News and Notes
Ryback ate Heath Slater..... Sheamus used the illegal Brogue Kick..... Alberto Del Rio defeated Tyson Kidd......... Layla and Kaitlyn teamed up and won..... they will face each other this Sunday for the Divas Championship..... There will be a battle royal on the pre-show of the PPV.... the winner gets a shot at U.S. Title on actual PPV........

BREAKING NEWS: LAWLER HEALTH SCARE

Long time color commentator for Monday Night Raw, Jerry "The King" Lawler, passed out on the announce table on tonight's episode of RAW. Lawler, who just finished wrestling a tag team match, was calling a tag team match when the announce table seemed to go silent. After break we had a very scary update from Michael Cole that Lawler passed out and needed medical attention including CPR. Lawler was then rushed to the local hospital.Cole's voice seemed to be shaken and very serious demeanor as he said this is not apart of the entertainment for tonight. Later on in the broadcast Cole stated that Lawler is in stable condition and his heart is beating on his own...

I would like to thank PWTorch.com with keeping up on this story and having an insider stating that there weren't any signs that Lawler was having any health issues. You can read that article here. I hope to have more information during my Raw in Review tomorrow night. Keep Lawler in your prayers tonight....

Superstars of the Future: Curt Hawkins

Curt Hawkins is a typical case of somebody who hasn't gotten the breaks of other superstars but goes out there every night and gives 100% in the ring and out. Hawkins started in the WWE in 2007. Teaming up with Zack Ryder on ECW and they were known as the Major Brothers. Ryder and Hawkins a little bit of trouble in their tenure at ECW. In the summer of 2007 they were drafted to the Smackdown! brand. Nothing really occurred for the duo until they dressed up as Edge to help Edge win the World Heavyweight Title and aligned with the Rated-R superstar and started going by the names we know them by now. Hawkins and Ryder won the Tag Team Championships from John Morrison and Miz in a fatal four way match at the Great American Bash. Once they lost the titles and got away from the faction with Edge, Ryder was drafted back to ECW which split up the tag team.

Hawkins went back to developmental in Florida for about a year then came back to the main roster teaming up with Vance Archer in ECW and started teaming up regularly on WWE Superstars. Once Archer was released from the WWE Hawkins started teaming up with Tyler Reks WWE NXT. Reks and Hawkins became two of the most entertaining superstars that hardly anyone saw on a regular basis. As the time went on for the next two years Hawkins was seen on RAW occasionally as a jobber to people like Brodus Clay. Hawkins and Reks then were starting to be shown on Smackdown and Superstars as a tag team more regularly and were going to be one of the cornerstones of re-building the tag team division. Tyler Reks however, asked for his release earlier this month to spend time with this family.

Now where does this leave Hawkins? He has a lot of potential and knows how to put on a good to great match every night. Has the charisma a lot of superstars lack, best bet for him unfortunately, would be to team back up with Ryder and help mold the tag team division to at least get to show the national audience how much he has improved in the almost 5 years he has been absent from the major two shows. Worst comes to worst he can go back to NXT where he has looked like a major superstar. Hawkins deserves more than just being stuck in the mid-card his whole career.

RAW In Review 9-3-2012

Dolph Ziggler Wins!

Dolph Ziggler defeated Randy Orton in a one on one match on Monday Night RAW! Which is a surprise of Ziggler lately who has been on a skid since he won the Money in the Bank match. Like I talked about last week, Ziggler needed to win some key matches and this was one of those wins. Albeit, he grabbed Ortons' tights, but he still picked up the victory. Now last year we saw the same kind of skid from a Money in the Bank winner in Daniel Bryan, who went on to become the World Heavyweight Champion, so we will see if Ziggler can have the same success as Bryan enjoyed.

The Miz Steps in for Lawler

The show started with CM Punk and John Cena having a war of words when Cena just decided to leave the ring after an announcement was made by GM AJ, which I will touch on in another headline. CM Punk who was furious about the announcement decided to take out Lawler again and left Jerry's chest too injured to commentate for the rest of the show. Michael Cole was solo for a while until the Miz joined the announce table and really did a great job as the color commentator and called it straight down the middle. It really was one of the highlights of this show and after he hangs up the boots there is a future in announcing for the Miz.

Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio defeat Cody Rhodes and Tensai

Well it looks like the teaming up of Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes didn't last too long. This week Cara and Mysterio teamed up against Rhodes and his new teammate Tensai. Cody Rhodes once again took a loss to Sin Cara and this team Mysterio and Sin Cara put a mask on Cody. In his current feud with Sin Cara, Rhodes has not looked good and it has to be troublesome to Cody and his fans. I sure hope Cody moves on to something more meaningful, Rhodes is young but then again, you do not want him to look to weak or else he will not be taken seriously.

CM Punk Aligned With...... Paul Heyman?!?!

As I stated before, CM Punk and John Cena recieved news at the top of RAW from GM AJ. She announced Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio and Punk vs Sheamus in a champion vs champion match up. Well when it came to Punks match he decided that he wanted to take the night off so CM walked out of the arena in dismay of his hometown crowd in Chicago.Sheamus did end up wrestling and conquering Jack Swagger instead. Later on in the show, in the main event, Cena vs Del Rio occurred as a Falls count anywhere match. While they match started heading for the backstage area CM Punk reappeared to start the beatdown on Cena. As Punk was done beating Cena he jumped into the passenger seat of a car and as the car drove off someone rolled down the driver side window.... Non other than Paul Heyman showed up as CM Punks' ally. Punk always considered himself a Heyman guy and this proved it tonight. It'll be interesting how this affect the outcome of Punk vs Cena at Night of Champions.

Other news and notes
Zack Ryder won again against Heath Slater... Thats two in a row for Ryder its the start of something...... Daniel Bryan and Kane ended Anger Management with a Hug it out match...... It ended with Kane almost crushing the Larynx with a chair...... Jack Swagger told AJ that he needs time off after losing against Sheamus..... It sent AJ into a panic with all of her bigger names leaving recently........

RAW In Review 8-27-12

Zack Ryder Has a Match on RAW... And Wins!
This is more of a sidenote that I would like to point out. Zack Ryder recieved a match on RAW and won! Against David Otunga which for most superstars that doesn't seem like the feat but, for Ryder it means one of his first wins on national television in quite a while is huge for the Long Island native. Does the future look bright for the Woo Woo Woo kid? You know it, bro, well at least I hope, bro.

Dolph Ziggler Loses Once Again.
Money in the Bank briefcase holder Dolph Ziggler lost on Monday in tag team action with his partner Alberto Del Rio against Randy Orton and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. I know that Ziggler had a big victory against Chris Jericho but before that Dolph has not looked like the show off he claims to be. Dolph has teased cashing in his contract on Sheamus but theyve all been ended before they began. Ziggler better step up his game or else he is going to fall by the wayside into the mid-card abyss of the WWE.

Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes Team up
Damien Sandow was interviewed backstage and said he finally found someone as intelligent as he is. That man is Cody Rhodes. The two teamed up against Brodus Clay and Sin Cara, who the men are feuding with individually, in a losing effort. The team of Sandow and Rhodes could be interesting and take the tag team division to a whole new level in the WWE that it needs to go to. Would I rather see the two be singles wrestler? Of course eventually but right now if it'll help the tag division I'm all for it.

Daniel Bryan in Anger Management

Daniel Bryan had to enter rehab per orders of RAW GM A.J. Lee. As did his rival, Kane, this led to some hysterical segments with the two and their doctor, Harlod. This later led to a Bryan in a match against R-Truth which ended in count out as Bryan was on the outside yelling "No" to the crowd as they chanted "Yes" the old catchphrase of Bryan. Will Daniel Bryan and Kane be healed of their anger issues? I don't think so but it'll be fun to watch if they do or not.

The Miz loses to John Cena in WM 27 rematch

The Intercontinental champion lost to the number one contender to the WWE championship, John Cena, this is nothing to be ashamed of. Although it was just last year that the Miz defeated Cena for the WWE championship. It is just odd how things change so quicky in the WWE. But both men looked strong in this match. The Miz looks to be on the right track now after his skid of terrible luck in the beginning of this year. Cena will always be John Cena and there is nothing anyone can do about that for the near future at least.

CM Punk defeats Jerry Lawler in a Steel Cage.... Congrats?

Last week CM Punk assaulted RAW announcer Jerry "The King" Lawler. So this week Punk challenged Lawler to a match in which Jerry accepted. The WWE Universe picked a steel cage match. It was a challenge for the WWE champion to defeat the 60 plus Lawler. Afterward though, Punk went on a rampage and viciously elbowed and kneed him in the face. Punk put a padlock on the door so no one could stop his attack and kept beating up Lawler because Jerry would not admit that CM was the best in the world. As they finally lifted the cage up Cena came out to the ring but Punk ran off before John could get his hand on him. This, in my mind, finally turned CM Punk into a full fledged heel. At Night of Champions it'll be interesting to see if WWE decides to keep the championship on him.

Triple H Retires.... Kinda
Triple H came out to the ring in his fancy three piece suit to thank us all for letting him "Play the Game" for all these years. The Game gave a tearful speech on how he had to hang it up but, to never say never. This opens the door for HHH to come back if he sees fit. Will it be against Brock Lesner again? Probably not, I hope we don't get another rematch against the Undertaker. It would be nice for the Cerebral Assassin to face some of the younger talent in the WWE like Dolph Ziggler or Cody Rhodes. Wrestlemania would be a great stage to do that....

Well that was RAW in a nutshell... Another quick note is to watch Jack Swagger to see if they do anything with him after showing frustration after he lost quickly to Ryback. I'm interested to see where RAW goes from here, with three hours to fill they'll have to continue building compelling stories from top to bottom
